BIOGRAPHY

Alaena Adams
Singer, Songwriter, Musician and Producer of Nigerian and Portuguese parents.

Born in North London in the 60's, She enjoyed exploring art and design as well as music...She lived in Africa for a while and returned back to London in the  early 80's.  Alaena went on to Art School and later got qualified as an  Interior Designer.
Soon after she decided to take time off to explore other creative pursuits, soon she found her self in the heart of london's Club, Music and Film Scene.

 As a beautiful young woman she was spotted by Agents who asked her to work as an Actress.
She appeared in "Looking for Langston"and "Young Soul Rebels" As well as various TV Commercials...


Alaena was also asked to Model for a few Designers and Photographers. Some of these photographs appear on this Site.

With all that said and done her true Passion was always Music...

One may say 'Not Surprisingly' Since her Mother was a World Famous Portuguese 'FADO' singer in the 50's and her Father into Jazz, RnB and South American Music.


Whilst exploring her self through Music ~ She soon realised that she had a natural talent and tone to her voice.


She learnt her craft on the road and in numerous recording studios doing session work  and performing in some of London's Coolest Night Clubs.

Alaena made guest appearances on various albums and music projects ! Alaena has been working on her craft for many years and has worked with some of the finest musicians in London and across the world...Working as a Session Singer for a many years helped her develop her unique Recording Style, which is Intimate and lets face it :

In The 90's and Noughties Alaena Adams with her Trio worked in and around London's Jazz Supper Clubs and Jazz Venues where she learnt her trade as a Jazz, Blues and Soul chanteuse. Such venues as Ronnie Scotts, The 606 Club,

The Jazz Cafe, Harvey Nichols, The 100 Club, The Vortex, Dingwalls and high profile corporate functions in London's Cafe Society singing elegantly crafted Standards, Simmering Ballads and sensual Grooves reminiscent of the Jazz Singers such as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan…


At the end of the 90's Alaena's Musical Direction took a

different Road, She Started exploring Spoken Word within the 'Neo Soul' genre... 

 

As well as Working with Jazz and Soul Musicians, She Collaborated and created a Soul blend of sublime Harmonies, Lead Voiceand Spoken Word ~ Which is simply Stunning and evocative of Smooth Jazz and RnB, Bossa Nova and Soul...

In 1999 her music took her into the realms of Healing and World Music, this was initially as a personal healing tool after a sudden and unexpected diagnosis of Cancer,

which truly deepened her ability to convey deeper issues of life, love and living.

In 2010 shortly after her mothers transition, She bought her 1st Native American Flute and has completed her 1st limited edition Album called "SACRED WHISPER' Now Available to buy on this Website.

Alaena has been Writing and Producing her own material for over fifteen years and has decided to Release her Records to the Public, including all back catalogues punctuating her journey through life.

It consists of Evocative meditative pieces such as "Western Moorland" and "Blue Pearl", gentle grooves Such as "Spring Time Rain" and "El Paso", shamanic medicine pieces such as "Cavern Rock", as well as an uptempo version of "Mountain Call".

With Influences from Native America, South American guitar and drums, Opera, Contemporary grooves and Dance music all interlaced with the sound of the Native American Flute.

This album is a rich and Vibrant palate of sound and texture, with some tracks recorded in 432hz.
